This book emphasizes the main themes of the photographer Jamie Orlando Smith’s project concentrating on the banal, unnoticed and forgotten landscapes of the peripheries of the city. Jamie’s work looks at a direct interaction of nature and culture. Control verses Uncontrolled. The linear shape and design of humanism verses hyperactive and chaotic forms of naturalism. As he was monitoring the edges of society I created a revealed binding that would emphasize this main theme. The rest of the design attempts to maximise white space with minimal type and imagery is pushed to the edges of the book, creating a dynamic balance.
